Paste your transcript
Copy the text straight out of Whisper, Zoom, Teams, or YouTube and paste it as-is, or upload it as a PDF. No need to strip timestamps or speaker labels — the AI keeps the content and skips the noise.
Generate questions with AI
CanQuiz writes 8 to 20 multiple-choice questions from the material, each with an explanation. If the topic runs deep, ask for more.
Practice and retry your misses
Answer, read the explanations, then rerun just the questions you got wrong until they stick. Share the quiz with a link whenever you like.
Transcripts people turn into quizzes
Recorded lectures
You transcribed a class with Whisper or your notes app. Paste the transcript and quiz yourself on what was actually said.
Educational podcasts
That dense episode deserves more than a mental note. Turn its transcript into a quiz and lock in the key ideas.
Meetings and Zoom calls
Zoom or Teams handed you the transcript of a training session. Make a quiz so the content outlives the recording.
Video courses
Following a recorded course with a transcript per lesson? Build a quiz per topic and review before moving on.
Why CanQuiz for transcripts
Paste it as-is
Timestamps, speaker tags, odd line breaks — none of it gets in the way. The AI works with the content and ignores the clutter.
Long transcripts welcome
An hour-long lecture fits comfortably. If yours is massive, split it by topic and generate one quiz per section.
Any language
Questions come out in the language of your transcript — English, Spanish, and more. Nothing to configure.
Private, editable, shareable
Your quiz stays private by default. Edit any question, then share it with a link when you're ready.
Frequently asked questions
What transcript formats can I use?
Paste plain text, upload a PDF, or even add images. CanQuiz doesn't transcribe audio or video — it starts from the transcript you already have, whether it came from Whisper, Zoom, Teams, or YouTube. Word documents and audio files aren't supported.
Can I paste a YouTube video link?
Not directly — pasting a URL works for text-based web pages, but it won't pull the transcript out of a YouTube video. Open the video's transcript ("Show transcript", under the description), copy the text, and paste it in — timestamps and all.
Is there a maximum transcript length?
Long transcripts work fine — an hour of speech is no problem. If yours is massive, split it by topic and generate a quiz per section for more focused questions.
Do I need to clean up timestamps or transcription errors?
No. Paste the raw transcript — the AI skips timestamps and speaker labels and focuses on the content. The typical glitches of an auto-generated transcript rarely affect the questions.
Does it work with transcripts in other languages?
Yes. The AI writes questions in the language of your material — English, Spanish, and more. A Spanish transcript produces a Spanish quiz.
Is it free?
Yes — the free plan includes AI generations every month, enough to get started. If you generate a lot, you can connect your own AI key.
Can I edit the AI-generated questions?
Yes. Every question is editable — tweak the wording, the options, and the explanation before you practice or share.
