Today, yes. No subscription and no paid plan. AI comes included every month, no credits: enough for about 20 normal quizzes, and a very long PDF spends more than a three-page article. It renews on the 1st. Generating, saving and sharing your quizzes needs an account, which is also free.

What kinds of PDF does it accept?
Text PDFs and scanned or photographed pages both work. With the included AI, a page with text is read as text, and a scanned page or one with little text is read as an image, so a diagram on a text-heavy page may not come through. With a crooked or badly lit scan the result can vary.
Can I ask my PDF questions?
Yes, once it's in a folder. In the Sources tab, Ask your sources answers from what the PDF says and cites the page. If the PDF doesn't cover the topic, CanQuiz tells you.
What if my notes are in Word or PowerPoint?
CanQuiz doesn't read .docx or .pptx files. Save them as PDF (in Word and PowerPoint, File > Save As > PDF; in Google Docs or Slides, File > Download > PDF) and upload that PDF. From a Word file you can also copy the text and paste it. For a whole book, upload it one chapter at a time: each quiz comes out better on a focused topic.
How many questions does it generate?
A 10-page PDF gives about 25 questions on “Balanced”, the default, because the count scales to how much material there is: “The essentials” gives about 12 and “Thorough” about 40. If you want a specific number, type it when you generate and it overrides the estimate.
What languages does it work in?
Whichever you choose. Questions come out in the language you write your request in, whatever it is, even when the PDF is in another one: technical terms and proper nouns stay as the material has them.
Do I need an account?
Yes, an account is needed to generate, save your progress and share your quizzes. You can sign in with Google, Apple, Discord or GitHub, or with a code sent to your email.
Can I edit the AI-generated questions?
Yes. After generating, you can edit any question, change options, tweak the explanation or remove ones you don't like.
How is my PDF processed?
Your PDF is processed by the AI CanQuiz provides: OpenAI's gpt-6-luna model, served by OpenAI, Microsoft Azure or Amazon Bedrock through Vercel AI Gateway. If you add your own key, by Google, Anthropic or OpenAI. You decide whether the resulting quiz is public or private.
Why not just use ChatGPT directly?
You can. CanQuiz generates multiple-choice questions with plausible options and a consistent format without you writing the prompt every time, and if you miss one, it explains why. The quiz stays saved, and you share it with a link.
