Turn any PDF into a quiz with AI
Upload your lecture notes, textbook chapter or professor's slides. CanQuiz extracts the content and generates multiple-choice questions you can practice with.
How it works
Upload your PDF
Drag the file or paste it from your clipboard. Works with PDFs that have selectable text (not scanned images).
AI analyzes the content
CanQuiz reads the PDF, identifies key concepts and generates multiple-choice questions with an explanation for each answer.
Practice and share
Review, retry only the ones you missed, and share your quiz with classmates via a single link.
What kinds of PDF work best
Your own notes
Scanned PDFs or exports from Notion, GoodNotes, OneNote, anything.
Textbook chapters
Digital chapters or sections from manuals you already have as PDFs.
Professor slides
PowerPoint or Keynote presentations exported to PDF that your professor shares.
Classmate summaries
Those summaries that go around the class group. Same content, quiz format.
Why CanQuiz for PDFs
AI understands context, not just text
We don't pull questions from random words. The AI identifies the central concepts in your PDF and generates questions that actually test understanding.
Explanation for every question
Every answer comes with a short explanation so you learn, not just memorize.
Share with one link
Once the quiz is generated, share it on WhatsApp, Discord or wherever. Your classmates don't need an account to take it.
Works in English, Spanish and more
If your PDF is in English, the questions come out in English. Same for Spanish. More languages on the way.

Frequently asked questions
Is CanQuiz free?
Yes, there's a free plan to get started. You need an account to save your quizzes and share them. If you want more capacity, you can plug in your own AI key.
What kinds of PDF does it accept?
Any PDF with selectable text works perfectly. If your PDF is a scanned image or photographed book, results depend on quality — OCR is improving but the result can vary.
How many questions does it generate?
Depends on PDF size and your plan. A medium PDF of about 10 pages typically generates 10-20 questions. You decide how many before generating.
What languages does it work in?
English and Spanish are the main languages. The AI detects your PDF's language and generates questions in that same language. More languages coming soon.
Do I need an account?
Yes, to save your progress and share your quizzes. Creating an account takes less than a minute.
Can I edit the AI-generated questions?
Yes. After generating, you can edit any question, change options, tweak the explanation or remove ones you don't like.
How is my PDF processed?
Your PDF is processed with Anthropic's AI (Claude) or OpenAI's (GPT), depending on the configured model. The AI extracts the text and generates the questions. You decide whether to make the resulting quiz public or keep it private.
Why not just use ChatGPT directly?
You can. The difference is CanQuiz is optimized to generate well-structured multiple-choice questions (with plausible options, explanations, consistent format) without you writing the prompt every time. Faster, more consistent, and you can share the result.
