What CanQuiz includes today
There's no paid plan today: the account includes the whole app and the AI for each month, no credits, enough for about 20 normal quizzes. A very long PDF spends more, and it renews on the 1st. With your own API key (Google, Anthropic or OpenAI) there's no CanQuiz limit, and you pay that usage to the provider.

The whole app
Building quizzes by hand, opening quizzes people send you, practicing, sharing, copying other people's quizzes and spaced repetition, with AI grading of written answers. No cap on quizzes or sessions, and none of it spends the included AI.

Anyone can open a published quiz and practice it without signing up.

If you want to generate without a limit
The included AI is enough for about 20 normal quizzes a month. If you need more, or want to pick the model, connect your own key: it's kept in your browser and the provider bills you directly.
Get a key
Google, Anthropic or OpenAI keys all work. You get one from each provider's developer dashboard, on its terms: some ask you to create an account and add a payment method before issuing it.
Paste it into CanQuiz
In “AI settings”. It's checked against the provider and stored only in your browser, never on CanQuiz's server.
Generate and pay your usage
Every quiz you generate spends tokens from your key. The provider bills you, at their rates and within your own spending limits.

Does it cost anything?
Not today: there's no subscription and no paid plan, and the included AI costs nothing within what it gives each month. If you run short and bring your own key, you pay that usage to the provider, not to CanQuiz. If any of this changes, it will be announced in advance.
Why does the included AI have a limit?
Because every quiz the AI makes costs CanQuiz money, and the limit is what makes it possible to include it in the account. Each quiz spends what it really costs: the monthly AI is enough for about 20 normal quizzes, and a very long PDF spends more. If you run short, your own key means no cap, your choice of model, exact visibility of what you spend and your own spending limit.
What if I don't want to get a key?
You can use CanQuiz without a key, with the included AI: enough for about 20 normal quizzes a month, no credits, and it renews on the 1st. A key is only needed to lift that limit or pick a model.
How much will I spend a month?
It depends on how many quizzes you generate. With the included AI you pay nothing, within about 20 normal quizzes a month; a very long PDF spends more. With your own key you pay what your provider charges for the model you choose, and providers let you set a spending limit.
Is handing over my key safe?
The key is stored in your browser's storage. To generate, it travels to CanQuiz's server, which makes the provider call and never saves it: it isn't in the database or the logs. You can delete it from settings or revoke it in the provider's dashboard at any time.
Will there be ads?
There are none today. If they ever became necessary to keep the project going, it would be said clearly beforehand.
