How practice works
Add a quiz to your practice
Your own quizzes join by themselves the first time you finish one all the way through. For someone else's quiz, or to bring one of yours back, press “Add to practice”. There's no extra setup.
Answer as usual
Due questions show up like any quiz, with a “Due” tag. Right or wrong comes from what you answer. If you get one right by guessing, press “I guessed”: your score still counts it as right, but the question comes back sooner. On open questions, the AI grades what you write, as in any quiz.
Come back when it's due
The FSRS algorithm sets the next date for every question. Home shows what's due today, quiz by quiz, and “Practice all” goes through them one quiz at a time, never mixed. A round is as long as you set in Settings: 10, 20 or 30 questions, or all of them.

Your answer is the grade
You don't rate yourself. Right and wrong come from what you answer, and the “I guessed” button is the only thing you add.
It doesn't use your AI for the month
AI grading of open questions doesn't use your AI for the month: it only has a daily cap against abuse, far above a long session. With your own key, grading runs on it, without that cap.
Rounds you choose
In Settings you pick how many questions a round has: 10, 20, 30 or all. A wrong answer doesn't come back in the same round; at the end you can retry only the ones you missed.
Frequently asked questions
What is spaced repetition?
A method that asks you again right before you forget. Every correct answer pushes the next sighting further out, every miss pulls it closer. CanQuiz uses the FSRS algorithm to work out those dates.
Do I have to prepare anything?
No. Your own quizzes join your practice when you first finish them, and other people's join with “Add to practice”. There's no separate card editor or deck.
Do I need an API key to practice?
No key is needed for any part of practice. Letting the AI grade what you write on open questions is included too, and it doesn't use your AI for the month.
What does AI grading cost?
With the included AI you pay nothing, and grading doesn't use your AI for the month. With your own key, your provider bills it.
Can I practice outside the schedule?
With “Practice all questions” you can go through a quiz whenever you like, without waiting for its questions to come due. When you finish the round, only new questions and the ones that were already due count; the rest keep their date, and a round you leave halfway changes none.
Is it finished?
It's ready to use: the algorithm, rounds, the “I guessed” button and AI grading all work. Details may still change.
