Sources

Study with your PDFs and AI, with the page behind every answer

Add your exam's PDFs and photos to a folder. Read them in reading mode, highlight what matters, make questions from any source and ask the AI about what you don't get. It answers from your sources only and shows the page each answer comes from.

How to study with your PDF

Add your sources

Upload PDFs and photos to a folder's Sources tab. Make a quiz inside that folder and the files you upload for it are saved there too, so nothing gets uploaded twice.

Read and highlight

Reading mode shows each page as clean text, with “See original” one tap away. Whatever you highlight is kept under Highlights.

Ask, then test yourself

Ask your sources about anything unclear, or turn a source or your highlights into a quiz.

When having your sources at hand helps

A question halfway through a chapter

Select a passage and tap “Explain this to me”. The answer is written from what your sources say.

Going over your highlights

Pick a few highlights and ask for questions on them, and they become a quiz.

Checking a fact

Every answer cites its page. Tap the citation to open that page and read the passage yourself.

Photos of the board or the book

Photos count as sources too: read them next to your PDFs and make questions from them.

Why study your sources in CanQuiz

One folder per exam

PDFs, photos and quizzes for the same exam sit together, so reading turns into practice without switching apps.

Answers with a page number

When your sources don't cover something, CanQuiz says so (“Your sources don't cover this”) and doesn't make up an answer.

Questions your way

When you ask for a quiz you choose the question type and the level, then practice on what comes out of your pages.

Several sources at once

One question searches every PDF in the folder and lists the ones it searched.

Ask your sources

Type what you want to know and the answer arrives with its citations: the source, the page and the passage it comes from. Follow-up questions stay in the same conversation. Answers come from the text of your PDFs.

Frequently asked questions

Can I chat with a PDF to study?

Yes. Add the PDF to a folder's Sources and ask it questions in plain language. Each answer cites the page it comes from, and the same PDF becomes a quiz whenever you want to test yourself.

Can the AI make up an answer?

Answers are written only from your sources and cite the page, so any fact is one tap away from being checked. If your sources say nothing on the subject, CanQuiz tells you.

Can I add photos as well as PDFs?

Yes. Photos are saved as sources, you can read them in the folder and make questions from them. To answer questions, the AI currently uses the text of your PDFs.

How is this different from a chat-with-PDF tool?

Chatting is one part of it. The same PDF is there to read, highlight and turn into quizzes, and it stays in your exam's folder with the rest of your sources.

Study from your own sources

Upload your exam's first PDF and ask it about whatever you don't understand.
